Secondary Education

Arizona's Secondary Education programs prepare individuals to teach content areas in the secondary school system (7-12) by offering deep content knowledge as well as the best practices for teaching.  Specific subject-matter courses, developed in collaboration with lead faculty in the discipline, build connections between theory and practice.  Preparation in the subject matter along with educatio courses, including field experiences, lead to certification/licensure.

Degree Requirements

All students must complete the professional education, methodology-field experience, clinical practice, and state-specific requirement blocks in addition to their content area requirements for licensure.  Fingerprint clearance and passing of the appropriate National Evaluation Series (NES) are also required for licensure.
