PYF 8400 PRACTICUM IN COUNSELING I

Students enrolled in practicum meet weekly in a practicum seminar led by a faculty member. This experience provides an opportunity for the student to perform the activities of a regularly scheduled employee in a professional clinical setting and complete contact hours required for licensure.

PYF 8410 PRACTICUM IN COUNSELING II

Students enrolled in practicum meet weekly in a practicum seminar led by a faculty member, This experience provides an opportunity for the student to perform the activities of a regularly scheduled employee in a professional clinical setting and complete contact hours required for licensure. Prerequisite: Completion of PYF 8400.

PYF 8482 PRACTICUM IN COUNSELING CONT'D

Continuation of PYF 8462 (or EDC 8463) Practicum in Counseling for students who are completing required contact hours over more than one semester/term. May be repeated for 1 semester credit.Prerequiites: Permission of PYF 8462 (or EDC 8463) Group Supervisor.

PYF 8500 INTERNSHIP IN COUNSELING I

Students enrolled in Internship meet weekly in a practicum seminar led by a faculty member. This experience provides an opportunity for the student to perform the activities of a regularly scheduled employee in a professional clinical setting and complete contact hours required for licensure.

PYF 8502 MSTRS RES PROJ

Preparation of a thesis or other major culminating scholarly project directly related to the program of study. Approved research proposal is required. Projects can be in one of four areas (Psychology, Counseling, Art Therapy, Marriage and Family Therapy).

PYF 8510 INTERNSHIP IN COUNSELING II

Students enrolled in Internship meet weekly in a practicum seminar led by faculty member. This experience provides an opportunity for the student to perform the activities of a regularly scheduled employee in a professional clinical setting and complete contact hours required for licensure Prerequisite: Completion of PYF 8500.

PYF 8512 MA COMPREHENSIVE EXAM

PYF 8520 INTERNSHIP IN COUNSELING III

Students enrolled in Internship meet weekly in a practicum seminar led by a faculty member. This experience provides an opportunity for the student to perform the activities of a regularly scheduled employee in a professional clinical setting and complete contact hours required for licensure. Prerequisite: Completion of PYF 8510.

PYF 8522 COMP EX & PORTFOLIO EXP ART THPY

Culminating project for Art Therapy students consisting of written examination covering counseling and art therapy foundations and practice. Accompanying portfolio required, demonstrating variety and depth of student's accomplishments. Research based project may be substituted for portfolio with approval. No academic credit offered and grading is P/NC. Evaluation by Art Therapy faculty and program director.

PYF 8553 SPECIAL TOPICS:ETHICS

Study of ethical, legal and professional concerns in the practice of counseling.

PYF 8600 FIELD PLACEMENT

Course designed to develop counseling skills through practical application in a counseling setting. Students work under the direct supervision of an approved onsite supervisor and faculty supervisor. Classroom component allows student to share learning experiences from placement activiites as well as guide the integration and synthesization of learned knowledge into practical application.
