Physical Education
The Physical Education major prepares students with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values to become effective professionals. Students are encouraged to engage in creative thinking and problem solving to help them become lifelong learners and reflective practitioners. Pre-professionals are provided theoretical education and are then frequently challenged to apply this knowledge in real world, professional settings with diverse groups of people. Areas of study within the Physical Education major include recreation and sports administration and teacher licensure. Graduates of this program are prepared for careers in teaching and coaching, as well as for administrative positions in recreational settings, both private and public.
Minors available in exercise science, coaching, and recreation and sports administration. Please consult your advisor for requirements and course offerings. For details on the exercise science major, see page 85.
