Acadeum Courses Policy
Ottawa University provides students with the opportunity to take online courses from a variety of institutions through our partnership with Acadeum. Through our preapproval process, students may work with their advisor to register for courses through Acadeum. These courses may be used to fulfill major, minor, LAS, breadth area, upper division, and residency requirements. Acadeum courses are intended to be used when Ottawa University cannot offer courses during a term needed by the students. School Dean approval is required prior to registration.
In addition,
-
A $50 per credit hour fee will be assessed. This fee is waived if the student is paying tuition on a per credit hour rate.
-
Residential students exceeding 21 hours will be charged the overload tuition rate.
-
Options are limited to courses not offered at the student’s home campus or online during the requested term.
-
As courses through Acadeum may be offered on different calendars than followed by Ottawa University, the end date of the course will determine which term Ottawa University will use to transcribe the course. Courses will be transcribed in the 8-week or 4-week term that corresponds with the completion date listed on the Acadeum course calendar. Courses completed during the Christmas break before 12/31 will be transcribed as Fall 2 courses. Courses completed during the Christmas break on or after 1/1 will be transcribed as Spring 1 courses.
