Admission Preferences

  • Military veterans with an honorable discharge (must produce a DD214/DD256).

  • Ottawa University students or alumni who meet the qualifications listed.

  • Ottawa Legacy (sibling, child, or grandchild of an Ottawa graduate) who meets the qualifications listed.

  • Backgrounds correspond to CASPA socioeconomic indicators.

  • Resided in a federally designated Health Professions Shortage Area (click here) during high school.

  • Recipient of the Federal Pell Grant Program.

  • Have direct healthcare experience serving disadvantaged populations listed above.

  • Master's degree or higher in a health-related field.

  • CNA for at least 12 months (does not have to be consecutive)

  • MA for at least 12 months (does not have to be consecutive)

  • Raised in a rural area.

  • State of Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma residents.

  • Community service in the United States for four (4) or more consecutive years.

  • Community service in rural clinics, long-term care, or mental health facilities.
