Applied Psychology - BS
Psychology is the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes. The Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology has a simple set of characteristics that differentiate it from other Bachelor degrees in Psychology. This degree has a rigorous scientific component with an additional neuroscientific and clinical orientation. However, a significant part of the curriculum displays a clear emphasis on criminal and forensic psychology. This degree in Applied Psychology emphasizes the teaching of theories and methods that will culminate in the acquisition of a specific set of skills (i.e., forensic psychological screening, clinical case studies formulation, neuropsychological/physiological case study composition, treatment plan design and composition, case manager psycho-social report writing, forensic interviewing techniques, etc.) through an educational program that emphasizes experiential learning and hands-on activities.
While this degree program's rigorous curriculum has been conceived to enable students to gain admission to graduate schools, it also provides excellent training to students who do not wish to pursue graduate studies, an instruction that will allow them to apply for government jobs as child protective services agents, adoption agents, criminal investigator, federal agent, police officers, clinical case manager, criminal case manager, correctional agents, parole officers, etc.
