Mathematics - BS

Mathematics is a powerful and versatile major. Students with degrees in mathematics are highly sought after as employers and graduate schools know that success in mathematics requires strong problem solving abilities and outstanding analytical thinking skills. The mission of the undergraduate program in mathematics at Ottawa University is to provide the student with an understanding of mathematical thought and knowledge and to prepare the student for the application of these skills towards advanced degree programs and/or careers requiring mathematical expertise. Graduates are prepared for a wide range of career opportunities from a variety of fields including professional graduate study, mathematics, operations research, computer science, engineering, statistics, elementary or secondary education, federal, state, or local governments, or actuary science.
